Simon Stone Tweeting this morning:

There are lots of statistics around football now to measure relative performance.

CIES Football Observatory have used players' age, length of stay at their current club and current contracts to work out Manchester United has the most 'sustainable' squad in the big five leagues, from Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao.

This is worthy of praise because it hints at a balanced squad.

However, there will be quite a few taking issue with the conclusion.

"Manchester United fans can thus be confident in the ability of their team to qualify without too much difficulty for the group stage of the Champions League over the next seasons, and eventually lift again the Premier League trophy."

Who was this report funded by - the SOO Foundation?

Llloooooollll!

The above made me look on the CIES site. It is one of the weirdest things I have read for some time. It appears a load of Nuclear Physicists with too much time on their hands sat down and decide to write something about 'soccer'.
To be fair to Stone it does actually say what he put ( he omits the many complimentary references to City) but all in all it is an absolute load of horse shit written by no nowts.

That study must be absolute bollocks - Jamie Paradise couldn't dream up that level of fiction..........

He's off again about us i swear hes obsessed.

Maybe we should all go back to 6 studs and leather caseys, flat caps and rattles. He is right though in sayings it's a very successful business model and as such, yes, technically any decent manager should be able to fit, as can be done with most of the large successful multinational companies hiring a successful MD. It is what it is.
He's hurting and trying to justify what is plainly very obvious. He's not even a Mancunian....Stoke at a guess
