Never saw the restart as BT busy showing repeats. Final whistle probably should have been blown just as throw in taken or even as soon as they took kick off. Where was the extra time from, will anybody have the guts to ask why more than the allocated time was played? What is the law re VAR after the FINAL whistle has been blown?
A ref in the Bundesliga took the teams out of the dressing rooms at ht to award a pen 2 years ago, so it's been done before.

Remember seeing that but there is a difference between half time and full time whistle

Brighton's goal celebration.

Bear in mind that it's supposed to be a MINIMUM amount of injury time, so 5 minutes could be 5 minutes, 59 seconds. But this annoys me because it gives a referee an opportunity to influence the result. If Brighon are attacking the ref can blow full time at 95. If rags are attacking the ref can wait another minute before blowing full time.

It's also inconsistent with champion league games where usually I've noticed the ref normally blow full time a few seconds before time is up. As if it's a MAXIMUM time.

I think injury time should be taken out of the refs control. I like the rule in rugby union where the final whistle goes when the ball next goes out if play when 5 minutes injury time us complete. But of course that removes another chance to help the favoured teams so will not be allowed.

The time played over I think is crucial should perhaps have the rugby system for time keeping. VAR has taken so much power away from refs already that this would seem to be a logical additional step.
For me VAR has ruined the matchday experience even if it is administered fairly which does not seem to be the case a lot of the time.

Brighton's goal celebration.
I did not see the game so can't really comment but the equaliser did appear to be very late in the time added on so not sure if the goal celebration should have mattered that much. Thanks be to fuck this geezer wasn't the ref for 93.20 !!

They took an age to get going again after the equaliser.

Looking at a post by the Mirror about what team’s refs support, for Chris Kavanagh it says
