Will it ever dawn on them that Ole wasn't the problem?
It didn't with Moyes (expectations of continuing success way off scale)
It didn't with LVG (thinking that it was just Moyes being the issue)
It didn't with Mourinho (thinking that it was just needing a proven PL manager)
It didn't with Ole (thinking it was just missing the mythological 'DNA')
So, im guessing it won't with Rangnick.
Or the next manager (Brendan being my 'nod and wink'), until they do a root and branch from top->bottom and clear the complete detritus of Ferguson and the 'living in the 90's/00's, they won't escape the repeating cycle.
They are awesome at the PR and media control, but it's having the opposite effect of what they require - to escape the past and have a chance to rebuild from scratch.
Edit: Sacking Moyes was probably their biggest mistake, getting 7th with the same group of entitled egos (players and fans), was an incredible achievement considering he was undermined from the start and had the looming overarching shadow watching everything. Admittably Moyes was very naive at the start of his tenure, but even then that could be put down to Ferguson not letting go till the end of season, rather than assimiliating. It's been downhill and a laugh a minute since then.
