Thanks. Yes, I do. Written about the help given by MCFC to MUFC a lot in my books especially The Emergence Of Footballing Cultures: Manchester 1840-1919 and Manchester A Football History but sadly there are too many myths out there. The facts are better than the myths to be frank.

Of the points mentioned though:

- Debts paid off by City directors in 1930s: Not true! City directors, officials & MCFC did donate money in the early 1900s to keep Newton Heath afloat (I talk about this in both those books) BUT NOT in the 1930s.
- They were bankrupt and about to be replaced in the league by Manchester Central: Not entirely true. They had financial issues BUT were not bankrupt. City and Utd DID work together to prevent Manchester Central from joining the League BUT Central were NOT going to replace 2nd Division Utd. Central were to fill a gap in 3rd Division North left by financial collapse of Wigan Borough. Full story in Manchester A Football History.

- We also donated kit, hence "rags": This often appears but there’s no evidence for this. Utd fans were the first to call their team the Rags. They started doing this in late 20s and early 30s when Utd used their kit for several seasons and according to fans it looked ragged (We also used kit for several seasons). But no evidence has ever been put forward showing that City gifted Utd kit and if they had then surely they’d have been wearing City colours?

The facts of the rivalry and City’s help given are covered in detail in my book… Manchester A Football History is now out of print but you can download PDFs of the entire book if you subscribe to my website. It costs £3 per month or £20 a year (the book cost £24.95 when it was new) and you get access to everything on that site, plus also a PDF of my 1st book.

Another highly entertaining and controversial weekend in the PL involving the Top sides and this lot don't even get a mention.
Relegated to Monday teatime when the Country is getting ready to return to work.

Ha ha, irrelevant Rags.
