He wouldn't be anywhere near that successful if he wasn't that self absorbed.I know exactly what you mean.
I think his level of arrogance is misplaced. I'd expect that from an up and coming player like Sancho who has got it all to prove.
Ronaldo does it and it comes across as a major inferiority complex. The way he points to himself when he scores as if to say "please notice me because I'm fucking empty inside".
I would expect a player who has achieved as much as he has over his career to just walk back to his starting position after scoring a goal. It would certainly make a bigger statement than this suui shite he does.
Messi managed it and he's like the boy next door in comparison. He wouldn't be anywhere near that successful if he wasn't that self absorbed.
Messi's a) more naturally talented and b) evidently failed to do it outside a particular family type structure that made him feel at home.Messi managed it and he's like the boy next door in comparison.
It's a bit embarrassing, watching him do that celebration. For the reasons you outline. Even worse watching the great unwashed doing it in homage to him.I know exactly what you mean.

NoHang on a minute. Just hang on.
If one of us, Liverpool or Chelsea won the CL (and the odds on that happening must be pretty good), does that mean that United would be back in to the competition even if they finished fifth?
Shit. Shit shit shit!
no, only if Chelsea somehow contrived to finish 5th behind the Rags in 4th.Hang on a minute. Just hang on.
