The big Sky Sports Manchester United Post-non-win Inquest is on again… (yawn!)
Nobody, but nobody, ever brings up the fact that English football does not have a Celtic/Rangers situation where there are clubs who have always been at the top. Where the fuck does this notion that United “should be” challenging come from? Everyone in the media is always trying to work out why United aren’t up at the top anymore but they all fail to grasp the facts of English football history.
English football is ever changing, there are loads of big clubs and loads of well run clubs, the best run clubs in the country are always up at the top but it’s never the same clubs. Never has been, never will be. It’s always changing.
In their 120 year history, United have challenged for the title 32 times (winning 20). It’s the most in the country (on both counts) but it’s actually not that many, the share of challenges and titles in English football is nicely spread quite widely. No clubs are completely dominant, and that’s what makes this the best league. For the other 88 years of their history they’ve not challenged for the title and, actually, their all-time average finishing position is 9th!
Them finishing 6th/7th this season is above their all-time average. In terms of how English football is, they should be well happy with that. They need to realise that nothing lasts forever, but they’re too insecure to think like that. Why are they so insecure?
There’s no big inquest to be had. Especially not every fucking week! It’s simply that United’s time has been+gone, there are other clubs who are having their time and are going to finish above them.
Sly Sports Football finished the United v Leicester match off by showing, go on have a guess..........
The Rooney overhead shin from 2011.
11 years ago and the Sly Sports c*nts are still showing it.
22 points.
And only one more victory will confirm Manchester City will, for the ninth consecutive season, finish above the whining bunch of wankers from Trafford.
St Beneath Us DayWe should name the day, in the same manner as Arsenal’s St. Totteringham’s Day.
I propose St. Bert’s Day.
