Watched the game and had absolutely no idea what United were trying to do. I fully expected a back 5 with Matic, Fred and McTominay in front of it defending for their lives.
Instead, they were absolutely all over the show - clueless. Liverpool looked faster, stronger and just FAR better footballers. United had no idea who to chase or, later in the game, who to kick. It might have been 4-0 but it was a 10-0er - similar to when we beat them 2-0.
It takes some doing replacing Solksjaer and then making Solksjaer look like Pep.
The players clearly think he is a whopper as they are not playing for him. Strangely, they might get top 4 just because West Ham, Arsenal and Spurs are going out of their way to blow it!
The job to rebuild that club is going to take someone with a lot of money, patience and luck. When I look at that squad, it's hard to pick any players who've got real sale value. I still think Maguire would be a decent back up for us and would love us to offer a derisory bid for him. He's nowhere near as bad as they make him play. Sancho doesn't look interested, De Gea has missed his chance to go to Spain for big money and Pogba will leave on a free. Fernandes isn't interested and looks a shadow of the player he was. Cavani and Lingard will walk on free transfers in summer too.
After that when you look at Wan Bissaka, Lindelof, Matic, Bailly, Martial, Lingard, McTominay, Fred, Shaw, Henderson, Jones, Telles, Dalot, Hannibal... that's not a top 4 squad is it?
