Because there is a finite amount of energy in the universe which doesn't itself grow, as such. The space between things just increases.

Explains a lot. Such as the entropy at the heat death of the universe because things have stretched so far apart, there just isn't enough energy to move anything any more. All the energy and matter is still in there - it's now just spread too damned thinly.

I disagree, they provide evidence of the required insight into the fundamentals for the thought and concentration process that go into matters of considerations surrounding the rags.... just sayin' like.
