Ye gods - don't tell me that the rags ground is in Gorse Hill - that was where I was born and proudly grew up. My dad sensibly supported City even though in later years we could see their floodlights from our back bedroom.
I always thought they were in Trafford Park - at least that is what the railway engine sheds were named and that was at the Stretford end of the ground.

easy to say when , as you say, they had managers of the ilk of the hard shoulder shitter and busby.
