Reading Red Cafe's Haaland to City thread and came across this gem , enough salt to keep Snake pass clear for a decade..

This "We're a big club" rhetoric they... and let's face it - the media keep pedalling really makes me laugh!

There was a time when City fans would have pissed themselves laughing if you'd have suggested United would be a bigger club... Preston, Stoke, Sunderland, Wolves etc. etc. etc. have all been bigger than the Rags back in the day... yet their status is discussed as if it's always been thus... as if them (and Liverpool) have simply been the biggest clubs since the year dot – they don't have the awareness to realise that things can and do change... clubs can slowly decline or drop like a stone, others can rise to dominance... it's the media perpetuating the myth that's worse, but they need the plastics to keep clicking and watching!
The sooner the Rags realise that the Ferguson Era was an exception rather than the norm, the better!

Just cycling past the Ragodrome 2000 and had to stop and document this.

Whoever did this was taking the piss.

And their pages are a lot longer than ours. Is it 40 posts/page, compared with ten in here?

That’s 400 posts already.

The Ferguson era coincided with the rapid rise of social media which were used mainly by youngsters who spent hours talking to like-minded ‘fans’ all of whom knew only success. For them and their experiences the Ferguson era was ‘the norm’ and what is happening now is the exception, which explains the mass hysteria and wailing about the current situation.
We know better.
They also have to convince themselves that City only succeed by cheating as the alternative is that we succeed by excellent recruitment on and off the field, and have great management and a coherent business plan.
Then they would have to ask why their management and club isn’t doing the same. Good business practice can be followed by anyone serious, but hey….you can’t compete with cheats, so why try?
