Extremely likely, I would say.

Him and his brother send out mixed messages all the time, as he is a season ticket holder at Chelsea, while also saying a boyhood United fan.

He offered way over the odds at the last minute for Chelsea, which was a strange one.

It smacked of someone chancing their arm but perhaps letting it be known to the likes of United that they are in the market.

He's gonna have to find at least £8bn to buy them, rebuild the stadium, new training ground, pay off the club debt and also finance signings.
Exactly, and he’s apparently considering slowing down his work schedule. With a reported personal wealth of 11bn and owning a rather successful chemical company, it could be one massive vanity project which unfortunately could benefit the rags.

They are ten years behind us and will never catch up.

Every time they make a stride, we just tweak our team to retain the gap.

Our infrastructure is unrivalled.

And as sure as eggs are eggs the rags PR team pull another rabbit out of the hat.

They are the classic "look at what's in the left hand, forget what's in the right hand " , diversion tactics the fuckin SAS would be proud of.

And of course sky sports news have lapped it up and stuck bells and whistles on a story that isn't really 100% legit yet.

Contrast the rumour of pep extending and the rumour of the rags selling up and it's there as plain as day how the sports media swerve us all the time.

We have got sky and the red mardarse clubs in the palm of our hand.

Benefitting the rags and bettering us are two very very different prospects.

I don’t doubt they would benefit from new, committed ownership, even winning the odd trophy. They are capable of that. But overtaking us? Not for a long time yet, they’ve had their time in the sun.

$5b plus..
Total revamp of the stadium.
Total revamp of the training ground.
£500m + on players.
Bargain, they’ll make that back in the first week when they all rush to replace their Norwich scarves.
