I've been looking on Red Cafe, and they are petrified of meeting Liverpool in game week three. As far as they are concerned, they are going to get battered. There is no doubt about it. They have no confidence in their players, their manager or his tactics.

This surely bodes ill for them this season. Bear in mind newly promoted Fulham just played Liverpool, gave them a good game and could easily have won. Yet United have no game plan that could deliver even a draw against Liverpool. Their players aren't even good enough to replicate another team's proven tactics. They could easily end up in a relegation fight this season.
Bear in mind, this was 2 days ago...
:-))))))

Relegation wouldn't help them.

IMO the problem with United is everyone still treats them like the biggest club in the country.

People on here can say they're shit, but the fact is Brighton and Brentford are celebrating these victories like a cup final, they think it's a massive deal to beat United. Watford celebrated it like getting promoted last season. The media still treats them losing like it's a shock.

I have started to believe that before they can bounce back, they need to completely shed that old reputation, they need to stop thinking they're challenging for titles or top 4, they need to lose and for people to just expect it, instead of everyone rushing in here to celebrate or the BBC sending every phone in the country an alert because they're 4-0 down.

Then, when they've finally lost all their status, they will have the room to start a rebuilding project without insane expectations or levels of scrutiny that impedes any progress.
This. 100% this. I've been saying this for the last four years. They literally have the break themselves down to zero. It has to get to the point where when they sign someone, it's barely news. The point where when someone asks, "Hey, who's managing Utd?", you have to think for a second before you remember.

That's terrific writing to be fair..........

Was in the car after leaving our game and listening to BBC Manc. They were going through all the local results and interviewing managers etc. They had some rag Muppet at Media City watching Sky and getting more and more upset as he provided updates.
At 2-0 we thought bollocks to this and went to the R5 commentary. Within a minute of changing channels it was three and it was four by the time we stopped laughing.
We were doing a late visit to a mate in hospital and when we got there he was watching it on his ipad with a big grin on his face.
The bit that got the biggest laugh in the car was the comment about Brentford not playing particularly well, but were still four up.
606 on the way home was hilarious, but when will the twattish presenters mention the amount spent on players under the Glazers? - "They've taken £1.5 Billion out of the club". Yes they have, but they've spent the same amount on players and pissed most of it against a wall.
My only worry is that they lost the first two games in 92-93.
