Pathetic.............

Assuming no-one has been mis-quoted or taken it from context etc then that's a hugely self-defeating lack of consistency.

Does the campaign absolutely no good............

Both are direct quotes. I took the first from the contemporary official KIO statement and the latter by replaying Bennett's interview on Sky and writing it down verbatim.

I take it they're talking about the Bobby Charlton Treble this weekend?

In 100 years, if City are sitting on 50 league titles and 15 Champions League, I doubt the history angle will be used.

We could just say we don’t recognise titles won in the previous millennium.
Yep, they haven't really been a consistent force at any point in the modern era. And by that, I mean since Sergio broke the stone tablets and Pep descended from the heavens to bring peace, love and breathtaking beauty to all in the game.

We’re appearing as bad as the scousers and media on this thread, demanding a ban for something most of us deem to be ‘misinformed’ and ‘without malice’.

We were calling for everyone to leave Bernardo alone, especially as Mendy wasn’t offended, and now the boots on the other foot when Onana isn’t offended we’re behaving the other way. Bizarre.
Yep. The Bernardo ban was ridiculous and so is this nonsense. It's actually a compliment to the guy calling him a silverback. It's just the wet fannies who see skin colour in everything who immediately went there with this one, rather than the intent. It's that HR nonsense isn't it - it's not about your intent it's about the other person's perception. All about the perpetually offended pronoun wet wipes out there.

Exactly where was the tipping point in all this historical nonsense? It was never a thing when I was growing up. People talked about winning trophies, but I never remember this bollocks about history and the shite about playing the United way (happens with other teams as well - the Arsenal way, the Spurs way etc etc). What's happened?

That’s because they have to give themselves a comfort blanket for why their team not being good anymore. Your right we never heard anything about history back when the Premier League was founded. United hadn’t won a league for 20 odd years and were exactly like what they are now. An expensive team of misfits that might win an odd cup here and there but won’t dominate English football.

They’ve only been good for 25 or so years of their existence, just like Liverpool were good in the 70s and 80s. How can they refer to it as history when it was a purple patch that both teams have never repeated again?

For myself , the outrage is about the oh so predictable hypocrisy of the media, kick it out, etc. In how the went after Bernardo with wall to wall negative coverage, whereas the garnacho coverage has been muted and if anything , more ‘it’s just good fun, he didn’t mean anything bad, and his target of fun is fine with it’.
Ie exactly what should have happened with Bernardo.

The kick it out hypocrisy is a slap in the face to the ongoing victims of racism, and sends a completely mixed message that those in charge (I assume old white men, shaking fists at clouds) have other motives for their output, other than paying lip service to fighting racism.
