Goldbridge having a meltdown about the Glazers, he feels that although they are selling 12.5% of their shares they should be giving it back to the club rather than taking the money.
He is complaining that they are treating the club as a business rather than a football club, well thats what happens when you float a club on the stock exchange.

Indeed. It’s not going to be an altruistic investment of buying 25% of the shares.

It’s even possible that TWGC will be squeezed even more to provide (diminishing) return.

Unless they get outside investment which is happy to wait 5-10 years for the beginnings of a decent return, (by throwing a hunk of money at infrastructure rather than the latest shiney shiney) then they are still on the downward spiral that began with Ferguson’s last few seasons of papering over the cracks.

I’m sure I’ve posted the same thing so many times since I joined in 2015 - accept whatever happens in the 5-10 years as it’s needed to start from a decent infrastructure, play the long game not the short quick fix one.

Hidden because one day someone over there might actually work out a plan….
Yep, I had a conversation with a couple of decent rags (I know, I know) when they were starting to get restless with The Moyesiah. I said then that what they needed was a couple of years of being mediocre, to reset and rebuild, but that the board and especially their fans wouldn’t allow that. In my wildest dreams, I didn’t imagine that 10 years later they wouldn’t have figured it out but would keep applying short-term fixes to a long-term problem to end up the absolute shambles that they are today. And it’s fucking glorious!

Exactly. I don't get this. In 10 or 25 or 50 or 100 years time our owners might want to cash in on their investment and if I'm around to see it then I'll appreciate that their business plan facilitated things I thought I'd never see and I'll let those memories get me through the times where they are making their money back.

This was the model that your club introduced in the 90s, you won everything, and now the model is literally paying its dividends.

If you want pure sporting club then go join your local atheletics club and voluneteer to pull pints at meets. You support Man United FC PLC.

It's puzzling because no one seems to know exactly what this Ratcliffe bloke is bringing to the table. How and where he is going to improve things at that poisonous cesspit remain to be seen, but I can't see him doing much more than arranging the deckchairs on the Titanic.

Futile.
What I don't get is all the rag fans are convinced this is just the start to him gaining full control and them getting rid of the Glazers altogether, but answer me this...

He can only afford 25% now at the current share price, assuming the money he's put into the club now does improve the club's fortunes (BIG assumption i know) that would then lead to an increase the share price... so how is he going to be able to buy further stakes in the club at a higher price than its currently at if he can only afford 25% at today's price?

Has anybody seen the new painting on the side of the Trafford pub where the Ronaldo Pat Butcher one was, has now been painted over with an unflattering painting of Bobby Charlton I actually thought it was Norris Cole ..
