Do you read the BBC news website, or have the BBC sport app? Do you need a licence for that content?
I go on the BBC website just to see what the day's lies are, I don't have a sport's app. You don't need a licence for the website.
You only need a licence if you are watching live TV from anywhere in the World, on any channel in the World.
You're fine with Netflix or Amazon if it's pre-recorded programme.
 
It's three years for me, watch out though because you have to fill in and return the 'no licence needed' form every two years to stay on the right side of the law.
Apparently it's the only law where you have to keep telling them that you're not intending to break.
Not certain but I think that is only voluntary, by doing that your giving them information which is what they want.

Maybe, but it keeps them off my back for two years.
I'm not trying to watch TV for free, I'm actually not in the slightest bit interested in it.

Oh right. I only ever watch pre-recorded stuff.
