Even the Raggies didn't think winning the FA Cup back in 2011 was enough to get rid of that childish banner..... Stretford Flags Limited were at one point going to replace it with a moving clock banner showing how many years it was since we last won the league.
When we won the FA Cup in 2011, that was our first trophy in absolute donkeys years and I did celebrate it for that reason, but today having another season like that in which the FA Cup is our only trophy, would feel like a flop season to me. This purely because of how high we have raised the expectations bar ever since to define a successful season. It's like a band getting to No.10 in the album charts with their new album, after their previous 15 have all gone top 5...... For many No.10 would be seen as an achievement, but for those who have gone top 5 with the their last 15, that's a relative flop.
Same with the Rags having a season in which their only trophy is the FA Cup despite being the most expensive squad in the league.
