I've watched a few of their games this season with my brother who's a red. It's funny as I see United now like one of those teams like Everton/West Ham etc who can sometimes finish 6th in a really good season. You feel they could almost kick on if they spent some big money on a top class manager and players. Then I realise they have spent a fortune on players and are stuck in that upper middle table battle. And their manager has a CV that's about as good as the guys at Brentford/Brighton etc.

However, without question they have 2 superb players in Mbuemo and Fernandes and without them they are fucked! :D Those 2 can open up any defence and if they are not available they are going to struggle.

LOVE IT!
Your wish as come true both not playing now

I was taken to Maine Road in 1968 as an outing with the cubs and I was Blue ever since
So I disagree with that hypothesis
Me too ... I was a Blue since the family barbecue the day after Law had backheeled United to relegation.

My uncle John claimed till his dying day that everyone leaving OT thought 'Denis has done it'. He was there so he should know ... but Mum didn't let me go to Maine Road till a few years later, because it was 'too rough'.

I didn’t think that.
We knew they were down anyway.

They are on an upward trend imo. Don't think they win a title under Amorim but they can finish top 4-6 this season and go deep in the cups again from next season. Think once Amorim has another summer under his belt they could be regular top 4-6 finishers once more, which isn't exactly what they want but it's on the way to their ideal destination.

Since those comments Ratcliffe made about giving Amorim three years no matter how much people might want him sacked, in all competitions they've P11 W5 D4 L2. In that time they've gone away to Liverpool (W), Spurs (D), Palace (W), and Villa (L). Things could be improved but Amorim has definitely stopped the rot and steadied the ship for the time being.

Lammens
De Ligt Maguire Shaw
Diallo [new CM] Fernandes Dalot
Cunha Mbeumo Mount

There is something in that system. Casemiro and Ugarte are nowhere near mobile enough to do the job Amorim wants, which is why they're still a work in progress, and Mount can't really be trusted to stay fit for more than 2-3 months at a time. But they are building a decent squad with decent options from the bench. No threat to us yet, but it's improving.
Why go to that level of thinking about that lot? If you're not embarrassed then you really should be.

In a nutshell, without thinking about them longer than I'd want. They'll improve on the 15th place finish from last season but will still be wank.

I have this kind of interest in every team. Looking up stats and posting about them, especially about the big six teams I guess, is one of my favourite things to do.

Fair enough fella.

For what it's worth, I'm no sure what the stats say but I've watched them 4 or 5 times this season and based on what I saw, they're nowhere near a top 4/5 side and I'd wager that their 2nd half of the season results are likely to be worse than their 1st half of the season results.

Uefa Conference League qualification at best in my opinion and that's just grand as far as I'm concerned. We'll see just big they are playing Shamrock Rovers on a Thursday night in mid December.

Cunts

Until Dennis scored, the scrawny bastards wete out of the relegation zone & it was only after that, that the other teams got a positive result which sent them down
We knew they were down before his goal. All the other results made it so.

I haven't watched them a lot.
But I fail to see how this mbuemo is a superb player.
The diving rat is half decent.
But he's a cheating **** who goes missing in big games

United are workmanlike currently. Have some talent in Fernandes ( who is in the latter end of his career) , possibly Cunha and Mbeumo. The keeper might turn out alright. After that it’s very average imo. Will have good days and bad but will need others to be poor to make top 5/6 . Hopefully do well enough to keep Amorim into next season when they can change manager and style with a new manager and repeat all the mistakes again.
