Howard Webb about to issue an apology to the rags and instigate a rule change where if they miss a penalty they are allowed to retake until they score.

I heard a rumour that Webb has order the players to come back this afternoon so the penalty can be retakes

True,

Your use of "bonfire" night had me scratching my head for a mo' though, :-)
It's just one of my little idiosyncrasies.

When I was a kid, I always thought November 5th was called "Bomb Fire Night" because of the fireworks (explosions) and fires in the neighboring back gardens.

Halloween wasn't really a thing back then. Autumn was all about collecting fire wood and other combustibles, making dens and scavenging penny for the guy.

It wasn't until I was in my 20s that I realised a rest bite was spelt respite.

School wasn't really a thing back then either. ;-)

By ratboy moaning about the assault on him by the ref no one is talking about the clear push on the defender for the rags goal.
Or the foul that Shaw committed at the same time as the penalty foul.

Who decides which incident has priority. The attacker being fouled or the defender being fouled.
Without being too biased with my blue tinted specs. But that incident to me should have been a free kick to Fulham. The foul by Shaw behind Bassey on the other Fulham player started first and IMO the Fulham player would have challenged for the ball.

We all knew it would be United that benefitted first from these new holding rules. I would wager there will be other holding incidents that are overlooked when it's United defending a corner as well!!!

What should have happened was that VAR said there was a foul from both clubs and they should have cancelled each other out. Instead, if we're giving the benefit of the doubt, we could say that the rag who was fouled was slightly closer to the flight of the ball, which is another bullshit trend in football. The "would he have got there?" question that they seem to ask about fouls in the box these days, which basically means if you foul the player early enough, there's no chance of him making it into a position where the authorities will deem it penalty worthy.

But what is the actual ruling when two fouls are being committed at the same time. Any refs on here ?

I wish to fuck that someone somewhere in a position of authority will call these bastards out for the help they've been receiving for all these years. Just a few chairmen to sign a motion demanding answers would suffice, just to get the ball rolling. And then see what follows.
I think there should be a trend for managers and assistants when talking to each other pitchside make comments such as 'we'll not get a penalty for that or VAR will disallow our goal because we're playing the redshirts' and let observers lip read their private conversations.
FA won't be able to do a thing to stop them due to it being a private conversation.
