Was trying to convince a red, decent bloke by all accounts, that it goes far deeper than folk realise. There is no way that the 7 or 8 managers and all the players they've had in last 12 or so years since fergie have all been naturally shite, it's almost an impossible coincidence. There are strange happenings afoot in the concrete corridors......and long may it jolly well continue

I'm sure we would all love to see that - however, my fear would be that a relegation does give a chance for a major reset - as it did in 1974. Those on big contracts will not want to stay, and a half decent manager will get the chance to start again, they will get that feel good bounce that comes when you start to win games again - even at a lower level, which may carry them on into PL. At the moment it is the treasure just out of reach that is so crippling.
At some point this bag of shite under whatever circumstance must improve, so in the meantime let's see them relegated.

No. Burnley, wolves, west ham are all currently below them and are worse. Then probably Sunderland, leeds, Brentford too and possibly even forest will all be expected to be below United.

United will be around the upper lower half of the table like last year but miles away from any genuine danger of relegation.
What is it that makes you so sure there are going to be three teams below them come the end of the season.
The evidence is they've been on the decline year on year, finishing 15th last season with zero signs of a turn around.
What I'm saying is, I wouldn't be as sure as you are.

If they do go down this season, it will be interesting on what relegation contract clauses they have in place for the majority of their players.
Maybe, after 50 years of complacency they havent got them (I seem to remember Blackburn or Leeds forgetting to have them?).
They could be stuck paying Pl wages, until they off-load (of which I’m sure a majority of the players will grab at the 1st opportunity, being the overpaid, disinterested mercenary lot that they are).
Maybe the signings this year, had some reality added to their contracts, about relegation release clauses or (from the clubs point of view) large wage reductions.

If they do go down, I can see them coming straight back…hovering lower table for a few years and then hopefully plunging down again, and then again.
Can you imagine how giddy the clickbait merchants would be & how it would be a bigger achievement that all that Pep has done

Sounds like he is inciting violence at worst and breach of the peace at best. As a former police officer you would expect a more cautious approach to the matter!!
Be easier for him if he went back to supporting forest
He’s rinsed the scum fanbase
Nothing left for him to do.

Everything to do with them.

It’s their job to put a structure in place which ultimately means they have the best chance of winning on the pitch.
They can't even put a structure in place that ultimately means their fans in the Stretford End don't get wet when it rains .

We have team meetings every Monday, we chat work and the week ahead but also have a chat about the weekend. I love winding up the blinkered Red when they have a bad result. Today he was moaning about Almorin being under pressure yet teams like Villa, Newcastle & Forest etc.. are not. He also thinks that they are playing well compared to last year. He then whinged about the none sending off and how it was unfair on "Bruno" as he had to wait ages for the pen.

So I pointed out the pressure comes from the entitled fans and the ex-utd players in the media that hark back to a time that was completely out of the norm for them (Fergie years) and that they should accept that the way they have been since Slur Alex has left is the norm
I also pointed out that the teams he mentioned did not spend over £200 million again this summer so teh expectations are rightly less.
Re them playing better, I pointed out their wins - Burnley and against 10 men Chelsea (who took all of their attacking players off after the sending off) and that they have not actually beaten anyone when playing 11 other than Burnley.
For the Pen I just said its the same for the keeper, surely? To which he had no reply.

They really are delusional

They have taken out billions which could have been spent on the club itself. In addition it’s not just investing in transfers it’s getting the infrastructure correct which allows that money to be properly invested. Look how our own club operates. It’s worlds apart.

With very few exceptions the influence of the Manager over results is widely overestimated.
Even with the money they have taken out, they could have still invested in infrastructure but they preferred to waste it on wages & transfer fees. Their fan base wouldn't be mentioning the Glazers if they were winning the major trophies. Look at the dippers fan base who have gone very quiet about wanting FSG out now that Liverpool have won the premier league & thrown money at players

Brentford just hammered them, Sunderland and Leeds aren't going down, Forest will be above them with ease. It's 3 out of 4 Burnley, Wolves, West Ham and United and I wouldn't bet on any of them to stay up. United could also get a points deduction due to PSR as well and that will relegate them if that was to happen
So any team that beats them is going to finish above them? Spurs and brighton going to finish above us then? Leeds have a single point more than United and you claim they're not going down. Why? Sunderland have had a remarkable start, given themselves a huge chance but they'll still be aiming for 4th bottom as plenty of promoted teams have had good starts then crashed.

Its very clear your view is tinted by heavy bias, United aren't in that category of teams however much we would like them to be.

No idea why you think they are facing a points deduction, there's no indication they have breached any PSR rules.

They finished 15th last season but they finished 17 points above the relegation zone, which is almost 70% of 18th placed leicesters entire points tally for the season. They were closer to 9th than being relegated. I dont think some have really fully grasped just how big of a divide has been created between the relegated teams and those hovering above it

Do you think the "establishment" will let them go down, not so sure, but I live in hope.

What pisses me off is the acceptance of utd getting penalties.
It seems the talking point is why some are missed and not them getting more penalties than everyone else in the first place
