See some of the abuse some of our players get on here, particularly the match threads. We like to think we have the best fans in the world (don't most club's fans think that?) l; I'm not sure we do. There's a toxic element to a section of our fanbase.

Poor Edghill took some fucking horrendous stick over the years. I was embarrassed by the behaviour of a lot of our so-called fans. Nowhere near as bad as the dippers and their lobotomised followers, granted: but not as pure as we'd like to think. But that's the same everywhere, even non-league, you get an element of morons giving the club a bad name.

There always has been. At Maine Road we had the famous Main Stand moaners. The worst stick I saw was that for Ian Bowyer who went on to have a fantastic career at Forest. To be fair it isn’t as bad these days as it was then. Even Paul Power was slammed by some of our fans. Now they hide behind keyboards. I have no problem with fair criticism. We are the paying customers. But there is a line not to cross.

I’ve mentioned before that Mrs Vienna was nearly punched by some lout, because she was sticking up for Bowyer, when aforementioned lout was calling him rotten.
