Anyone ever listen to Scott Mills, Radio 2, Dead Good Dead Hard Quiz, around 7.40am on Radio 2.
It's really easy questions in rapid succession, but have to be answered really quickly. For example 'What's faster a cheetah or tortoise'? Earlier this week there was a rag on from Chorley, falling over himself to tell Scott he was a United fan. He failed on the 2nd question, Which channel is East Enders on. He answered ITV. very funny!
Told a rag at work today Victor Arthur Rodgers (or similar) is having a really good season for you. It took a minute or so!
BBC radio ??? Scott Mills ??? It’s a no from me and has been for over a decade Good tale all the same

With a few rags crawling from underneath their rocks, and the press already declaring their return to greatness. I think it a good time to remind them that they are not the club they used to be.

I've seen a few old favourites coming from some United pundits. "City will never be as big as United" etc etc.
Well we are already "bigger" than them. Not that it matter of course. But City's recent successes over the last decade or so puts that argument to bed. City have surpassed many of United's record breaking moments. Then went on to set new records.
What is correct, at least for now is who is more famous. I would agree that United is still more famous. So the argument of who is the biggest club comes down to how you judge "Big". Success or fan base, income/future success.

United are suffering the same fate as Liverpool did. A successful club who didn't adapt when the success died off.
The phrase "To Big To Fail" has never been more apt. It has hindered them at every level.
It's not as if they didn't have the backing of the press. Every upturn is met with "They are back" headlines. Fuck even the Premier league bosses declared "The league needs a strong United", nice and impartial.....NOT!

I was reading an article this morning, and an innocent throw away line basically spelt out where United are now.
Christian Ziege was looking back at his playing career. He has no malice or agenda against United. So his comments are a true reflection how many players think of United today.

"I had offers from Barcelona, Juventus, Milan, Atletico Madrid and Newcastle - and I was talking to Alex Ferguson at Manchester United at one stage, but my decision was made. I told him it would have been better if he'd called me earlier, as United were massive at the time, but I was happy to join Milan."

"United were massive at the time"

And there you have it!

Er…only City have been ‘MASSIVE’.
It’s part of our name: Manchester City Massive plc.

I wouldn't say they are 'bigger' in the sense they mean, they are certainly more well-known but that's because they are mass-produced, the commercial aspect is more important to them than the football itself.
I always liken it to seeing two eating establishments next to each other. One is a four star Michelin-Guide restaurant, with a fully-trained gourmet chef preparing the best food available to clients from the aristocracy and the upper classes. The other is a downtrodden fast-food place, cheap but morose, dealing only in burgers and fries for the DWP brigade of single mothers, and tattooed low-lifes from the nether regions of the slummiest council estates. One might be busier than the other but we all know where we'd prefer to eat.

If people wish to spend their money in a cramped, visibly crumbling ground that had its day 50 years ago, and watch the sort of football served up by the local Dog and Duck, that is their choice. Others would rather pay the extra and sit in a modern stadium that is clean and well looked after, where the facilities are second to none and the football is amongst the best this country has ever witnessed.

Hate to say it but they look like a top top side under Carrick

We need to get playing well because they're hot on our heels

Another struggling victory against ten men at home.

If they manage to get European competition, they're going to be embarrassed.

They look like exactly what they are; a no-rate bunch of pretenders being given assistance every week by officials, without having to play in multiple competitions and a media circus fuelling the 'rise' of a title challenge is fucking laughable.

They're still shit, the league is currently unpredictable and the standards of teams around them are inconsistant at best.
