How can they be making profit when they now owe more? Is it creative accountancy not putting one figure in one column that would have them in debt if they did?

How can they be making more money than last year with fewer games and major sponsorship clauses revised down due to their poor performance and lack of European football?

Money laundering is a growing business.

I haven’t looked at their report or balance sheet but the maths is pretty simple: income less expenses = operating profit (or loss).

Expenses include debt service costs.

The amount of debt they carry on their balance sheet is eye watering but the reality is it only really becomes a problem if the debtors call in their debts and the Rags can’t pay. That seems unlikely to happen as long as they keep servicing the debt. In fact the debtors seem to be perfectly happy to lend even more money.

The question of whether the Premier League should allow Clubs to carry so much debt is another matter altogether.

They’re be winning it with the PGMOL on their side. Next season we are going to see some very “strange” decisions if they are anywhere in the vicinity of a title
They can get a maximum 81 points, even if they play out of their skins they'll end with less than 78, the arse have 61 now so 6 wins more or less puts them out of it, plus they've got to hope that 3 teams implode all at the same time - 66/1!! It might as well be 66000/1 it ain't happening.

Its an impressive figure in truth when you consider that they spent heavily on transfers (as always) didnt have the CL money coming in nor any club world cup bonus income. If they make CL this season, they'll be in a much stronger position to become relevant again.

The increasing debt would be a major concern were it not for the fact the rules will never, ever be changed to punish them, they'll just keep letting it pile up, pushing things down the road and they'll suffer no consequences for it because they essentially created the rules.

Yes, I was going to say something similar. The PSR rules care about Profit (it’s in the name) and don’t care about debt. Which is strange, because debt is often what makes a business go under.

It’s probably been said on here before but who actually do they owe the money to. Is it one bank / company or is it numerous parties?
Where does the Camen isle thing come into the equation ?

Cayman Islands is a tax haven I think. A bit like Isle of Man.

So clearly, Nobody gives a shit about how bad this is for football because it's United
SKYsports BBC TNT should all be headlining and running a yellow loop ticker across the screen saying United's debt is out of control and £1,5 Billion and growing, it will never be paid back

You wait untill the next scam.

INEOS as kit sponsor....

Debt is debt, we say it won't ever bring them down but forever is a long long time.

Its the cooking of the books, turning over lies and iffy claims (COVID) that really fuck me off when teams in a much better financial position are deducted points for being.....well whatever the powers claim they are being as the rag scum ship continues to sail on.

How do you get away with not paying transfer fees and how do the owed clubs show this in their accounts and doesnt this screw up auditing for how much money you are allowed to then spend in your transfer budget
