It doesn't matter how old they are.
It is shite defending, & people are absolutely correct to mention it. That is not good at U16 level either. The keeper was poor as well.
We have this sort of crap on the Rekik thread. Let's all pretend he is miles better than he actually is, & not notice when he makes a complete arse of stuff. Tell the truth.
It was absolutely shocking defending, & the players themselves will know that. They can do better, & had they done anything like a decent job, City would have won, probably by more than 2 goals, as th rags would have had to try & come out.
The best team lost, due to poor defending.

Utd had most of their Youth Cup team starting. We had most of ours not playing. That is the difference.
But we still shouldn't be conceding goals like that, & should not have lowered our standards later in the game. We are a passing team & we stopped doing it.

Disappointed with the result and the defending obviously but not really dispirited by the overall performance. I wonder what a team of Albison,Maffeo,Tosin,Cameron,Angelino with a middle of Bryan,Celina,Fernandez,Barker and Ambrose,Buckley up top would achieve.
Utd were on the back of 6 clean sheets but looked in trouble as we moved the ball well and created quite a lot of chances in that first half. Maybe it would have helped if the ref had been better. I may have blue tinted glasses on but I thought he was awful and gave Garcia almost no protection at all.
For all our neat play which was threatening but did we like a true striker. Faour scored but is he really a striker? I am not convinced and still think he is at attacking midfield player.Put Ambrose in that role instead today and who knows.I don't think it helped either that we had Wood playing at left back when surely he is a central midfield player.Was he at fault for their first 2 goals which came down his wing?
All part of the learning experience.
