Unpopular opinions we have

Good thread.

I dont think that people who did not contribute taxes should be allowed to claim benefits unless they are disabled. Also benefits should be only for people who

a. We either born or worked here for over 10 years paying taxes.
b. Not allowed to become a lifestyle just a way to help people until they find work.
c. People on them should be forced unless proven disabled to do some form of work. Like cooking in soup kitchens, making beds cleaning, helping with rubbish pickup. Anything that contributes.

So the God knows how many 18-24 year olds who are unemployed in this country shouldn't be able to claim benefits as they've paid no tax?

They can because their parents contributed. I am talking about "Hi im from (insert EU country here) I have come to claim my benefits".

Thats why I said citizens or residents only. If you from elsewhere you have to contribute to the pot for a minimum time then you can collect.

Tiger Woods and Kobe Bryant had a right to cheat once you earn over £100 million and become a legend in your chosen craft your partner should look the other way because you deserve to celebrate :).

That's not what you said, but now you have clarified I can agree with the principle and it's not really that controversial.
