Unpopular opinions

He says UK stance on supporting Ukraine has no support in Europe and we are just doing it because we are “America’s lackey”. The figures of military support from the Baltic and now, belatedly, from Germany give the lie to this.
He believes US should negotiate a settlement with Russia which concedes part of Ukraine to Russia. He thinks that would put an end to Putin’s aggression and that there would be no further demands. Sounds like Munich to me. Note that Ukraine has no say in all this. He does not believe that Russia poses any threat to western freedom and democracy.
A brilliant linguistics scholar, but his marxist beliefs make him a poor political analyst.
Ok so I guess the scenario you favour is, continue pouring advanced western weapons into Ukraine, defeat the Russian forces and recapture the occupied regions Crimea etc Russia then walks away with a bloody nose and we all live happily ever after. Hmmmm so in that scenario we hope Russia won’t get so desperate they launch tactical nuclear weapons? Hmmmmmm that’s a pretty big fucking risk. Meanwhile even in your best case scenario, Ukraine is reduced to rubble, hundreds of thousands more are killed, millions are impoverished and the world is permanently fucked up. I must admit I prefer the sit around a table a bit more than Armageddon. But that’s just my opinion.

Suppose they ask for not just all of Ukraine, but Poland, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Georgia, Moldova and Romania as well? Should they be given that in case they use tactical nukes? It's fairly well documented that's Putin's endgame.

It is a very bad habit to guess at other peoples opinions based on a brief post.
You guess entirely wrong, so stop telling me what I think. In my “best case scenario” …..well you tell me what I calculate and I’ll respond!
You completely miss the point that Chomsky thinks Ukraine should have no say in this because it is a proxy war between Russia and the US. Thats a hint, by the way, of what I think should happen.
When you are sitting round this mythical table is Zelensky there? Or is it a Russian stooge (as before) or nobody at all? It rather makes a difference to the shape of negotiations since we know that Ukraines stance is to regain every inch of territory. How will you deal with the UN stance on it being illegitimate to gain territory by conquest?
How will you deal with the question of sanctions?
You haven’t thought this through if you think sitting around the table is that simple.

And you’re a moron.

There are very few homeless where I am, or at least ones outside shops and lying in doorways so it’s not really something I have to deal with often, but I’ll be sure next time I’m in Manchester to just leave my phone with one with the just eat app open for them so they can splash out.
they get so much food at times it goes to waste.
Sad..

Good man, I always find that a bit of company for them helps a little too, must be awful to just be out there with nobody genuine to talk to.
