Upgrade Time - iPhone 6s

You know about Zedge, right? I've used that since 2006, got the agueroooo sound from it.

Modern Android does everything an iphone does and more, usually they play catch up. My old mid range galaxy ace was, whilst the s2 was out, was equal to the iphone4 in spec and performance! I've used both. But iphone is twice as much. Bollocks to that.
Yep; got that app on my phone. A lot of shite on Zedge, with the odd good bit thrown in.

Whatever you do, don't switch to Samsung or Android. Worst 2 years of my mobile phone owning life has finally ended. Bought myself out of the last 5 months of my contract I hated the phone and operating system that much. Back to an iPhone with the 6 plus now, done wonders for my stress levels actually having a phone that works.

Same here.

Big fan of Android and always have been. However I realized I don't use more than calls, text, camera, instagram, facebook, Twitter, bank, music apps so when my son said he wanted an iPhone basically because his mates have them I flogged it for two iphone 4s 16gb's.
It's so compact and does everything I want so I'm more than happy with it.

There will always be people who specifically want an iPhone so we reckon this comparison would be worthless to them except for the chapters where the iPhone wins. Android on the other hand doesn't exactly promote brand loyalty. We've come to think of the two platforms as polar opposites but this is probably the first time they're showing so much respect for each other.

None have an sd slot though......

Trying to help, don't want you getting ripped off Blue. Geek mode, watch out for the release dates. Only thing the Apple has better is a camera to take pictures of yourself from. And even used as a negligible, it's over twice the price. If using it as a webcam, that's selfish too, what if the person has limited data? (Devils advocate) Anyway. Tech specs;

I appreciate it mate however I decided I love the simplicity of the iPhone too much. I don't like my friends Android, the menu system etc, it's too bulky. I like having my apps lined up in front of me, easy to group, etc.

I appreciate that too. I must counter it though. I get mine alphabetical and sorted by genre by simply pressing the app button. Thanks smart launcher. Even without smart, it's one more button from home to get the same thing. Then it's simple to drag and drop onto the home screen into groups. Thumb down and drag over an existing one. Only major difference in hardware is only one key for Apple and 3 keys for Android, and apple always seem to be playing catch up nowadays. Boggled me using the first iphone. Wanted to stick to phones with buttons but decent ones are non-existent anymore.

All else fails, get the droid, unbox it, skin it in iPhone software (easily done) and hope she doesn't notice for two weeks until it's too late!

All those specs are worthless when the iPhone 6s is still the fastest phone in the world when it comes to real world tests.

Watch the video below and see how it blows the Galaxy Note 5 out the water even with "half" the specs on paper.

The way I think about it is the iPhone is like a Porsche. It's all built/designed in the same place so the sum of the parts work well together even if it appears to lack on a spec sheet. Most Android phones especially the Samsungs with the much derided touchwiz interface are more like an American muscle car where the power is immense but it doesn't translate into real world performance.

Agree that comparing specs are pointless between Android and iPhone, as they're running totally different operating systems. This is only useful comparing between phones on the same platform.

However, I much prefer Android because of how customisable it is, and hate how restrictive iOS is in terms of the apps I can install. I can understand why some people like iPhone, as they're simple, but I like having the freedom to do what I want, rather than do things how I'm told to. Itunes is a prime example of this. Why use a horribly bloated piece of software to transfer music and videos, when I can just drag and drop, or download directly to the phone itself?

Mate I'm not watching that. No point. I'll never own anything Apple because I think it's simply overpriced. I'm not arsed about tech stuff really I just know about it and keep up. Fact is the s5 could work the same as a 6s, and it was released 18 months ago and is half the cost. I only use it for bodies, communication and the Internet, so not bothered. Rooting is easier than jailbreaking if anyone was that bothered about performance. I'm not. Phones are fast as they are!

Having had both platforms, for me the Android is better. It may have been model/carrier specific issues at play, but the Android worked much better as a PHONE than Apple's devices ever did. (Dropped call frequency went from about 1/day to 1/month after the switch)

Negative for Android is the amount of pre-installed bloatware apps. I hate those damned things - clunky, use battery life and data, and also actual security risks in some cases. I understand Motorola makes some good Android devices that largely come without the useless bloatware and may look into this when my current device dies.

I still have a Galaxy S4 now and probably will for another year though. Just never saw the need to constantly get a new one of these things every year to get the latest fucking blood-pressure monitor or whatnot. Just give me a damned phone that works reliably and onto which I can load Fotmob and I'm happy.

I had the opposite experience. my android phone used to drop calls far more frequently than the iPhone. I don't do much with it other than calls, texts, music and a few games that my kids downloaded and for my needs the iPhone fits the bill better.
