We have a great club and season card prices are so cheap its unbelievable (burnleys lowest season ticket is 425, the same as ours!)

what i dont get is something not relating to season cards but the membership packages: for those thinking up upgrading to platinum -

of the site regarding upgrading from gold to platinum:

Q 16. Will there be a difference in price between existing Membership renewals and first-time buyers?

A. Yes there will. All existing members should renew by the end of either the renewal window or relocate window. Any remaining seasonal Memberships will be offered to new supporters at an increased price

I understand 'upgrade' means you get more, but why do gold members have to pay more than those who renew for exactly the same the same benefits? there's no incentive to upgrade and so i can see those on gold never upgrading so those who seek to renew their platinum to make sure they receive more loyalty points to secure tickets are doing so when they shouldn't have to worry anyway.

I can see their being lots of renewals this season but hardly any upgrades whatsoever.

I hope i dont get a knock on the door from some city secret agents now i've uncovered the plan behind the different membership packages.

Thank you again city for such cheap season cards. Long may it continue.

You mean downgrading to platinum ?

Currently Platinum is cheaper than gold .....

Last night gold price was $1573.80 while platinum at $ 1449.00.

I prefer to look at it as brown, grey and black.

The new loyalty scheme annoyed the hell out of me last year, as it destroyed any pretence of loyalty. Just my thoughts, but the money in your pocket means more than all those away days down the years.

I read with interest in the programme the answers of the points of blue meeting, and the club avoided answering the question.

They want our money, and we are slowly, but surely, turning into our our quiet neighbour.

To answer the question, I have no idea what the best buy is, but I will be buying my brown card again, and if someone with a deeper pocket than mine wants to buy a grey card that gives them more loyalty, then so be it.

It's the way the club have gone, and it's a long time since we saw the mantra 'putting our supporters first'.

It depends where you are with your Points...if you're playing catch up, then go Platinum. If you've got a healthy number of points, save the money and go Gold.
I did Platinum 2011/12 but am doing Gold this time. I've earned the Points and in all honesty, I must have looked at the e-programmes and e-magazines once all season.

has anyone had their renewal package yet? I've not had mine. I went platinum last year and thought it was a waste of money.

I don't know anyone who has received one yet. The ones who have renewed (including me) saw it on the OS and renewed online.

Far too keen, let them sweat for a while

Not worth it for me, I was platinum last year and didn't get to many aways, any I did get to I would have more than enough points for anyway. By going platinum I'm never going to catch up for the few hard to get to games, joining the cup schemes means I should be OK for any finals.

I think the blatant way they charge £50 for LOYALTY points is a bit shit, but hey ho, renewing at £490 and am certainly not going to complain at that.

Platinum was a waste for me this season. I was going to go gold this year but you can't sell your ticket on ticket exchange with gold. Platinum is £50 more for me but would get that back if I couldn't go and needed to sell my ticket.
