Urgent Computer Help

had a bugger of a virus tonigh...trojan downloader.....replicated my system files and changed all my winsock settings so i couldnt get on the net

the file is called king1.dll and sits in c:/windows/system32 folder....it attached itself to my system services.exe, taskeng.exe, svchost.exe & even my spool.exe file (so basically when i tried to remove it, it also binned my system files)

only thing to shift it is a piece of software called superantispyware, which i have used on a few occasions but always reverted back to avg & spybot (btw....avg detected the multiple threats but wouldnt remove them & spybot didnt even find them)

give this a whirl mate, its gotta be worth a try >>>> <a class="postlink" href="http://www.filehippo.com/download_superantispyware/download/b2236f6b96d5dbca453178fc01f1caa3/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.filehippo.com/download_super ... c01f1caa3/</a>

I've got that Trojan downloader, AVG picked it up.

Help Shady!!!

download the link i gave you mate (dont forget to update before you run scan).....its found 2 trojan downloaders (trojan.agent/gen.downloader & trojan.agent/GEN-PEC) and 13 malware at the moment

once you have run the scan and cleared the trojans.....goto start menu then bring up a command prompt

now type netsh winsock reset

it will run a winsock reset and then ask you to reboot....once rebooted, go into mozilla and internet explorer and clear all your cached temp internet files

people slag off windows vista, but it was the first version of windows to really tackle these problems (of course the first thing everyone did was switch off UAC, making it easier for the baddies to get in. numpties). it's not good for older systems tho. no-one should be using anything older than windows XP with service pack 2/3. use firefox or opera, not internet explorer. and never ever click 'run' when you download a program. save it and check manually it with AVG first.

other advice:

buy a second hard drive, and only use it to store documents, music and the installers for programs you use. then you can always reinstall windows on the first drive whenever anything goes wrong. that normally takes less time than getting rid of a persistent trojan and helps keep things speedy in general.

never surf for random porn links on google. (use phun.org/forum youporn.com thehun.net)
never surf for programs you want. torrent them from a small tracker (ask around) or use something like forumw.org or tehparadox.com.
and never download anything from a site that doesn't have a forum where people can tell you something is wrong.
