I have a few Iranian friends, students and colleagues.

The general consensus is the regime must end, but they don’t want it at the hands of the Americans or Israeli’s.

Thats the feeling I get reading around.

But lets be clear, the Iranian people WILL be worse off after this.

Makes me laugh all the war apologists, good versus evil, right and wrong, Iran are terrorists, the poor iranian people... Just call a spade a spade, America are doing the same as Russia, taking territory whilst trying to tell everyone its to fight nazi's or terrorists, or to help the poor people. For all Trumps many, pathological, faults I did expect the USA to keep their bombing targeted to military and government buildings. This ain’t their first rodeo in Iran and usually they manage to do that.

But I guess when Israel is involved levelling schools is par for the course.

It’s hardly going to encourage the Iranians to take to the streets and overthrow the regime like Trump is asking, just lose the even support of the anti-regime Iranians that wanted outside involvement.

Technically only congress can declare war. But in reality all sorts gets done without calling ut a war and when you have spineless congress like we have now there is no push back. If dems regain control then they could make these things very uncomfortable but even then I don't think they can stop the potus giving orders to strike targets.

There is a sizeable amount of discontent among MAGA at the Greenland, Cuba and Iran stuff because they did care about “No more wars”. I wouldn’t say it’s at the point of splitting them because ultimately I think that was quite low down on most MAGA agendas after deportations and anti-LGBT stuff, removing women’s rights and general “owning the libs”.

His board of peace stuff is also quite unpopular because of the $10Bn theft from the taxpayers.

But there have been some quite prominent MAGA podcasters/influencers unhappy with this, and that was before today.

Those are 50 innocent children who have (or had) dreams of growing up and living life.

Utterly stupid decision by the two remorseless partners of pro-war. Why do children have to be killed as collateral?

I assume that anything Israel is doing is by missile, because I doubt their aircraft wouls make it that far through Saudi airspace without being shot down ? The americans can use planes from their carrier.

Interesting to note that Oman seems to be carrying on flying as normal in their airspace.
