Instead of cherry picking bits from the article it, if you read the whole thing it is evidently clear that Iran is wanting to develop nuclear weapons and their shortcomings so far has been the warhead technology. Enrichment is a short process, why else do they have 441kg of 60% enriched uranium?

They want to, likely yes, but they were nowhere near the second stage of making it usable in a nuclear destructive device. That development stage doesn't appear to be present anywhere. They may have had the intent but the reality of building it was way, far off.

No, I don't think they are. However I do think, and have for some time, that our enemies, be it Russia, Iran or China can do significant damage with a major cyber attack. How long would it take for meltdown if there was no internet, card payments, ATM access, sat nav, mobile phones, maybe electricity, traffic lights out of action etc? I'd give it 48 hours before there was major civil unrest. We've got a a couple of £000 in cash easily accessible should the above come to fruition and have had for some time. Lucky to be able to do it I know but I do think it's the way a country can be devastated from within.

That's the one, although the bigger issue is not just the cost but also the fact they only make 600 a year, used 25% of the total stockpile in last years war, and rely on Chinese supply lines to keep making them.

The USA just can't afford this kind of warfare long term. Feels like the options are (1) rope in the rest of the world, which seems unlikely, (2) Put boots on the ground, (3) this is over in 2 weeks with Iran weakened but fundamentally unchanged.

I'm going for option 3, in that scenario. Maybe a little longer than 2 weeks but with the same result.
