As I said, we're in the midst of something very special. Well done, Rory

Well done indeed, now lets hope he can bag the US open & Masters next year and hold all four
You can still get 5/1 - 6/1 for him to win either......Could be some early value there if he dominates on the PGA tour......

Unbelievable odds considering, but they are a long way away. Who knows, the pillock might get engaged again....! He gave the field a 9 hole start and they still couldn't beat him. Scott, Fowler, Stenson etc are good players but Rory will go down as one of the top three in history as a minimum (in terms of majors). He is lucky in a way that there are no other elite players around and we are robbed of seeing Woods/Rory/Els and Mickleson all going at it by just a few years but that won't mean anything when Rory takes no.21.

That drive for an eagle was a unbelievable shot that's what won him his major
Without a doubt
I said on here what a shot at the time,he was 3 shots behind fowler taking his second shot at that par five tenth with phil & stenson also in front of him, what a talent to overhaul them three and win it after a terrible opening nine holes.....

Well done to Rory. Sportstar of the year award is nailed on now. I think there is a few now getting closer Ricky Fowler , Jordan Speith and Patrick Reed from America isnt too far away from winning or contending more and more.
European tour and I would add into the mix Stenson and Garcia if he can get rid of the bridesmaid tag he will win a few.
Rest of the world its only a matter of time before Jason Day wins 1. Poor last round last night.
UK and Ireland still think Luke Donald has a chance if he can get back the form of a 2 years ago same with Lee Westwood but think Westwood is a major bottler but he should of had 1 by now. Also think Shane Lowry might win The Open in few years time. Has done well on the links courses and The Open might be the 1 you see him winning.

All good players but none that will ever be really remembered as great. Rory is lucky to be in this era but he's good enough to have been successful at any point in history. I agree there are a wider number of players that can win one or two majors, but very few that will win 3/4+. He's only 25 but he's won more than most of the pretenders combined.

Went to bed about 11ish (it's my daughter's birthday today, so I knew I'd have to be up early), with both my bets (Stenson 28/1 and Fowler 22/1) on fire.

Woke up at 6 ish, only to find McIlroy had closed it out, when he looked a bit wobbly around the 5th. BUGGER.

Fair play to McIlroy. He's on fire at the moment, and could well dominate the decade the way Woods has previously. I just can't take to him, though (and that's even before I heard he was a Rag).

Well Rory is now the winner of most majors in Ireland beating Harrington with 4 majors now. Next up for Rory is to try and over take Faldo who won 6 Majors but I think he will get double figures for sure. To get by Tigers 14 majors only time will tell. I think Tiger if he is injury free and 100 % he can add to his 14 majors.
