I think any MAGA Trumper is going to have it plastered all over their social footprint, be that social media or just speaking to friends and family. That would make for an instant disqualification from a jury like this which might actually make it much harder for a MAGA loon to get on there in the first place.

I really hope that they can secure a totally objective jury, because the implications of the alternative scenario is HUGE.

Government shut downs are like self flagilation fir the GOP. Its widely accepted that whatever party is seen to be pushing the shut down loses support over it. So they all cave in the end. But the GOP loves to cause a massive drama around whi is the biggest shithouse.

This will end up with large marge and the crazy gang calling each other in public.

You have a speaker who has admitted there’s no evidence of wrong doing by the president, opening an impeachment inquiry that is guaranteed to fail, all because he was so desperate to become the speaker that he ended up agreeing rules that ONE dissenting extremist from the MAGA wing of the party could bring forward a vote of no confidence in him and 3 of them abstaining from the subsequent vote would lose them the house.

I expect Pelosi and Jeffries will stop at nothing to expose this for the farce that it is. They will not repeat the mistake of the GOP and fail to show up—they will absolutely challenge the GOP narrative.

BUT will this really blow up in the GOP’s face given how low Biden is polling now?

Will the average independent or left-lean voter really care or show outrage at a sham impeachment?

I feel like that’s what McCarthy is really trying to test. If Dems don’t rally and polls don’t show any support, then the impeachment will have succeeded in that Biden is perceived as damaged goods, regardless of whether the House vote even succeeds.

I worry the country as a whole (apart from MAGA crazies) will be apathetic and just accept this as a political maneuver and “par for the course” now.. like Bill Maher who claims he's not a fascist but always carries water for them.

This isn’t a grand plan by McCarthy. You’re doing the thing people used to do with trump or Johnson where they try to invent a method behind the madness.

This is simple. McCarthy either starts an impeachment enquiry or there’s a new speaker by the end of the week.

Also Biden isn’t polling badly compared to trump or any other republican challenger which is all that matters.

Gaetz and Taylor-Green have the reins of the Republican party in Congress.

Mccarthy will do exactly as he's told.
