US Politics Thread

Biden is a thoroughly likeable, honest human being, and an able leader, yet cursed with a horrifically brutal past, and handicapped with stuttering. Yet in spite of all this adversity, he's become President of The United States. Biden is my hero!

Numerous posters on here - perhaps all? - lament that it's Biden v. Trump. Including those that are fervently against Trump (Biden is much too conservative for many of them). Not me!

My number one pick for President, is running for re-election. And of all potential candidates on the Democratic ledger, I strongly believe that Biden has the best shot among them all to beat Trump.

As for the reservations among numerous posters against Trump but repelled by Biden... numerous points spring to mind, as to why this mindset is crazy:
* As the leader of the country, the President should seek consensus whenever possible - Biden has done this
* Biden is faced with a split legislative branch - he's not free to do as he wants
* Should Biden win re-election with Democrats controlling both the House and the Senate, I expect that Biden will enaact many reforms dear to the Left. And, frankly, I hope this happens.

First things first - lets get Biden into office with Democratic control of both houses. From there, wonderous possibilities will emerge.

Not been a fan of Scaramucci, but this is the most open and honest discussion I have seen from him…probably because of its long form nature and trying to explain the issues to a couple of Brits.

It’s over an hour long, but there’s enough upfront to fill yer boots on just how empty and scary Trump is and could be as 47.

If you have ANY interest in understanding where we are, it’s an hour worth your time.

Just got done watching this. Enjoyed it. Scaramucci is extremely knowledgeable, and is a very entertaining speaker.

Good on Joe, went well there. Good man, a real human being who cares about others I think hes great
Given I have no emotional attachment to any US party, I can look dispassionately at Joe Biden. I am baffled by his low approval ratings: I think he has done really well.
The State of the Union speech was excellent, eg no ifs no buts “I will restore Roe vs Wade.”
How can anybody vote Trump in this contest?
Lets hope Biden has a majority in both houses and can put right some of the wrongs of Trump and SCROTUS.
He should consider judicial reform, the courts have badly let the people down.
Difficult, I know.

Not a bad speech at all. But will never take the US seriously until politicians stop mentioning god.

He will. He's said numerous times give him the house along with another term and he'll increase SCOTUS.
