US Politics Thread

November 5 around 0600 UK time.

I will be in Washing DC that day and now considering not going in case I hear the purge alarm going off IF the result is confirmed.
I've been over here for the buildup to the election, and during the aftermath of an election (2016 & 2020), but this is my first actual election that I'll be over here.

Compared to a UK election, it's surreal. Individual candidates spending more money than UK political parties.

They spend Tens of Millions just for Senate seats. That's the same party too cchallenging of their own

Disagree.

Lone wolf nutjobs may take action or try to. But such are - I'd guess - on the order of 1-in-100-million or so in a 6 month or longer timeframe... so maybe 3 or 4 idiots... sure, maybe, but that seems high. Not a civil war.

As for an organized rebellion - maybe something similar to the Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping plot might happen. Again, not a civil war.

As for something on the order of 1/6 or larger - I don't see any chance of that whatsoever.
Worth pointing out that the only 'lone wolf nu jobs ' to date have been trying to shoot trump

It's remarkably difficult to find unbiased polling - especially among polls calling it for one side or the other. There does seem to have been a general indication that Harris has had a poor couple of weeks, but I think the financial incentive package for black male voters has been overlooked and could make a difference. Any poll that appears unbiased seems to suggest it's still too close to call
