FBI is currently headed up by a trump appointee.

I suspect this is stuff around the records act which is a minor crime but enough to get him barred from running again. Technically he could get jail tome but it would seem harsh for records alone.

But it's also linked to the Jan 6th/fake electors stuff as no doubt the stuff he was trying to hide was related to that or other crimes.

There is also the tax fraud stuff that hangs over trump so that's another angle.

So many things.

They have known he's had the stolen records since he left office in January 2021.

It doesn't take 18 months to get around to picking them up.

I think they aren't involved at all or it was a pretext to get inside and get what they wanted.

So many things evidence of which may be in that safe....... I can imagine Trump needing to have it all down on paper and putting in a safe - probably a Trump Safe from 1999 ( if such a thing exists lol ) which had all the integrity of an ice cream wrapper
 
I suspect the raid will have nothing do with the Jan 6 committee. It'll be he's been asked nicely to return classified information to the national archive and he's refused so they've had to send in the big boys to get what they need. The raid was times 91 days before the mid terms giving the authorities breathing space from being accused of acting politically.

If they happen to find something that helps them nail the **** it will be considered a bonus.

Ahh yes, we all remember fondly how the FBI raided the Clintons' homes after it was found that the lovely Hillary had kept secret gov files on her personal server.

Those were the days of consistency...?
