How did he know he was recently released from a psychiatric unit?

He didn't, but it is an indication of the behaviour of Rosenbaum. Someone with psychological problems from childhood trauma who then carried on that abuse on young boys he was staying with.

He wasn't a nice man. World is better off without him in it.

No, it's not an indication of his behaviour at all, it's an incredibly transparent attempt to smear mental illness as being crazy and unpredictable.

The guy was bipolar and being treated for depression after trying to commit suicide. Yes, 16 years ago he'd done something awful and served his time for it but he wasn't some unpredictable raving loon who deserved to be executed on the street by some jumped up right wing teenage prick living out his fantasies.

Except he was acting strange and unpredictable. In videos he is red faced telling "armed men to shoot me nigga", walking around without his shirt on, pushing a flaming dumpster, going up to people and goading them, throwing his bag of possessions at rittenhouse (who was carrying an extinguisher towards a fire at a car lot) before he was shot.

It’s behaviour defying social norms even at a protest where people have taken fireworks and guns. All of it is behaviour that means he is more likely to get involved with a violent incident (victim or perpetrator).

He was unnecessarily drawing attention to himself, when he shouldn't have been there and should have been lying low after hospitalisation.

Somebody who struggled managing their emotional state and had a dark side. He had a string of convictions after the sex crimes and was violent to the woman he was in relationship with.

But because the teenager who killed him is believed to have had misguided fascist leanings these are uncomfortable truths we can't mention.

Would you be chasing the kid and threatening to kill him?

Me personally, I’d be staying as far away from him as possible.

I’m not sure who these “heroes” think they are?!

Why would anyone, on a night when people were rioting and others were walking around with ARs threatening them, try to wrestle a rifle away from someone?!

People are stupid and THINK they have the law on their side when they don’t!

While Rittenhouse MAY have been doing something illegal, I’m not quite sure why self-righteous protestors felt it was up to them to try and disarm someone running down the street with a weapon, let alone get into a shootout with him.

When someone starts waving a gun around, it’s time to run, not chase them…unless he points it at you and you’re armed and accurate…not chase him around town!

There is absolutely zero doubt that he was doing something illegal, he was carrying a gun he knew he wasn't legally allowed to own, that he'd procured illegally.

Which he should be convicted of and receive the appropriate punishment , but you can still claim self defence when you used a weapon you aren't legally allowed to possess.
