US Presidential Election, Nov 5th 2024

People seem to forget that majority of Americans are still white conservatives. The average white american still feels like slavery wasn't necessarily a bad thing, just a chapter in their long history. Obama was a one off and Biden Vs Trump was pretty much a sibling rivalry that had to be resolved in house (basically a "one of us" situation).

There was no way Kamala was going to win this election, also certain hispanic and arab minority groups also have their bias against someone like Kamala. Sad to say but the Democrats could have selected a more marketable candidate, don't get me wrong she's qualified but this is America we are talking about here, The Terminator was the governor of one of the biggest states in the country and I believe a reality tv host was once elected president.

It's not about qualifications, it's about who's relatable and most americans are like Trump, Christians when it's convenient (up until that "love your neighbour as you love yourself" part, that's when Christianity becomes woke), anti- abortion (until you get knocked up by the guy you've been cheating on your husband with), anti-lgbtq (until you need to sneak off to Thailand on that business trip), anti- black (until you need a few "Blacks for Trump" stooges on the stage with you...The name Blacks for Trump is just wrong on so many levels but that's a different topic all together). It's just a country full of despicable hypocrites.
Yep, we get the leaders we deserve etc

Seriously
On a radio broadcast and couple of weeks ago, they were in a battleground state sat with a group of housewives who were split
One quoted the price of eggs and said Trump will sort it and that's why she was going to vote for him
What she was saying was all the cost factors that go into producing eggs, electricity, animal feed, fuel for delivery etc
She didn't say how he was going to solve the price issue, just that he would
I heard that one as well, tbh the price of the eggs was about $6 for a dozen if I recall, well obviously ouef is oeuf for that woman ;)

I know both parties did it, but I do think the democrats wheeling out celebrity after celebrity didn’t help. Most people couldn’t care less what they say
Yep, cringeworthy but probably no more so than wheeling out musk. I think the endorsement of J-Lo who turned a blind eye to Diddy for all those years was probably not helpful.

It's worrying for democracies how easy morally corrupt people can play the system.

I'm not even sure you cam blame anyone, I think you have to accept that there are a lot of resentful people in this world who would rather watch the world burn than work together.

The UK has to start building ties with more moderate, stable countries, start realigning ourselves with Europe.
