Spot on it was a distraction, a dangerous play though as the rest of the world seems to be coelessing mainly in order to protect themselves, I am not sure his base will see it like that but they are a bit gullible

Not only was it a distraction from all that, but he also basically pulled the down lever on the stock market. I guarantee his 'mates' made a tidy sum of money off that.

Well, this is interesting. Similarly, i am on a chat with A LOT of clever people who are consistently ill informed, full of predictions and projections and are often if not always willfully blind to anything that doesn't fit their narrative of Trump = Evil, Dem = Just trying to save Democracy....

I don’t know about any of that Dax. The Dems in this same system may well be every bit as bad.
You know I find it hard to get my head around what’s permissible at times in your political system and institutions.

All that aside though. Party politics be damned.

Do you not see Trumps “policies ?“ , as nothing other than self serving.

It just seems to be , consequences be damned, as long as the bottom line benefits him.

Which policies specifically? And by self serving, it depends on what you mean.

if you mean he is pushing policies that increase his popularity and wants to go down as a great President? Sure. But isn't every President trying to be self serving in that way?

But if you mean self serving in the ways many here purport he is, i e. Its all a scheme to get richer, then, No. I don't see that at all.

If anything his policies are indicative of a President who has nothing to lose. He doesn't have to run again, and this isn't particularly interested in protecting anything. He has had plans he is been talking about for the better part of 2 years now, and he is pushing policies in line with those positions.

Its quite possible that one might disagree with his ideas or his policies, but none of it is surprising or out of left field or hidden.

Let me put it differently, there has never been a more open American President in my lifetime. He is doing EXACTLY the very things he spoke about ad nauseam during his campaign.

Yes I’m talking about the reasons for the tariff policies.
Personally looking from the outside in, both before and after his election victory I didn’t believe his tariff naivety explanation. Too simple.
I don’t expect you to see it the same, but sometimes the simplest explanation is the true explanation.
He’s a grifter and I have no problem believing this is grifting.
I know you back his agenda as seen in the other two threads. That’s fine. You know I’m not a fan.

But I don’t see what you see. I don’t see this being for the benefit of ordinary Americans. I hope for their sake however I’m wrong.

Nope, they will never realise it but you are right about weekly if not daily volatility though I am sure it will ease a bit eventually when he runs out of steam, like most toddlers.
