looks like retailers and manufacturers built 6-8 weeks of supply/inventory, so unless somethings changes this will start to bite hard by end of May.

Just like they knew how to play the markets when he announced the tariffs.

Just realised, all those job losses and downgraded hours, those people can just take up the slack of those that have been deported or not entering the US anymore.

Feels a lot like Brexit.

He said the farmers could just sell their once exported produce at home. Hmm, more obesity not to mention additional farting from all those soya beans.

8bn global consumers have a lot of purchasing power, and refusing to buy products from US brands would have a catastrophic effect on US markets, and would force a change.

will Trump blink?

He'll blame it on Biden and then, when he inevitably reverses course, will call it a win and take credit in two years time for getting stock markets, employment and the economy back to where they were before all this shit happened. If he is lucky .....

So the extra extra tariffs on car exports and steel are gone, but the baseline 10% remains. Remind me, did we respond by putting a baseline 10% on all american imports?

Austin found out

And Austin would vote for Trump again. And again. And again. The problem isn’t that he did. The problem is that no matter what Trump is or does, he will always support him regardless. No lesson will ever be learned. No self-scrutiny of the decision process will be made. Until he says, “I fucked up and I won’t ever do it again”, the fact that he’s suffering for his vote now is irrelevant.
