US/UK launch strikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen

There are some right cretins on here that would rather support arms go to Israel, than understand Ansar Allah's attempt to force a rethink of those arms given to murder thousands of innocent Palestinians.

I used to think it was shocking to read people 'cheering' on mass murder, even by default or the need to be right, but here we are...

I can't see any way back, social media algorithms creating further divide

Think it’s all eyes on the US later this year. I don’t think we’re in anywhere near as divided a state as them, not yet, and ultimately a lot of the divide is minority voices being amplified still about what aren’t major issues, if you take something like Brexit then it won’t be allowed to turn into its worst possible version as the majority wouldn’t allow it when they feel it directly impacting them. Thats why the opinion polls are now what they are.

Our troops are all over the world as well , if they got killed we would not be blaming them for being there . It is the way global peacekeeping works although you can question if it is working
No-one's blaming the troops. But the person asked why is the US always involved, and the answer is because the US involves themselves in everything.

Just the bit where the overwhelming majority of the population live.

Just South Yemen without full control of Aden ... hence the colonial pearl clutching.

The misinformation I was responding to was that Yemen was being attacked and Yemen was merely defending itself/striking back. That is plainly not the case.

Our army is so short of manpower that we could not even defend our own Nation , so talk of global peacekeeping is a joke.

Our troops are amongst the best in the world but sadly cutbacks have hammered their abilities and motivation.

So... no weapons can go through any other ports and Ansar Allah are lying, you're saying?

If that's the case why send 6 Navy Seals to killed in the Red Sea? What were they doing there?

What else is going on if your summation is correct because all it does is raise more questions.

Houthi‘S are claiming they are hitting any ship heading to Israel, not specifically arms.

2 Navy seals died. Where did you see six?

The US have been in the area since 2008 due to Somali pirates.

They increased their presence back in 2017 due to the Houthi‘s attacking a port and a Saudi war ship.

After years of cuts, and mismanagement of contracts, Defence is in a mess with people leaving in their droves due to the pressures of commitments on an ever decreasing workforce.

Anyone think the yanks might be being led into a dark alley here? They are not going to be able to fight russia(ukraine), China(taiwan) iran(middle east) and north Korea all in one go, yet seem to be on the verge with all of them, all of whom are currently providing weapons etc to each other.

So, looks like Iran has been telling the groups they have armed to chill out and back off, some are, some are not.

Basically these are not Iranian proxies. they are not controlled by Iran, they just had some alignments and have been armed by Iran but are now doing what they want to do.

I fully expect Iran to strike the Houthi's in the next week or 2 if they dont stop hitting shipping ( or trying to )

This info coming out of US inteligence making it sound like they are removing emphasis away from Iran.
