USA 2014 Champions tournament

With City due to launch New York City FC in 2015 it would be good to take this tournament quite seriously, particularly the Liverpool game in New York. Beat Liverpool, get the US support enthused and it helps give a better impetus to New York City FC. Hopefully the City team can take and show the US public the League Cup and Premier League Trophies whilst there (another good reason to stop Liverpool winning the Premier League, as we dont want them parading the Premier League there at that game when we are trying to build support in the US and start a team in New York )

Football is growing in the USA , and although in particular it will probably never get near to American Football (NFL) there can be a place for it with a good solid setup, and if City can make NYCFC a good entertaining team, no reason why it cannot do well in New York, in particularly being a summer sport i.e. takes place in the off season of NFL.

Further if City continue to do well here it should help raise the profile (by association) of NYCFC.

Is there a stadium now in place\being built yet for the New York FC team ?

There is no ''probably'' about it. It wont. The media will see to that!

For anyone interested in going, I can tell you Sporting Park in Kansas is a great little stadium and their fans create a great atmosphere. Kansas as a state is kind of a hole though.

The match won't be at Sporting Park. It will be at Arrowhead.

I'm excited. I plan on going to the match in KC as it is only 3 hours from home. Then back home, work half a day then fly to Pittsburgh to watch the AC Milan match. Getting the chance to watch City twice in 4 days on American soil is incredible.

Not according to this on Sporting KC's website that states it will be hosted at Sporting Park

This is so very weird. Over the weekend the Mrs and I went to KC to watch Sporting. We saw multiple stories saying it would be at Arrowhead. That is what the folks at the Cauldron tailgate were saying as well. But now all I'm seeing is that it will be at Sporting Park. I can't believe they will hold it there and forgo an additional 20K-30K tickets. Even for a mid-week friendly, you know they could get 50-60K in Arrowhead to see City play.

I prefer Sporting Park, but I know getting tickets will be nearly impossible. Hopefully it won't be too difficult. Not going to that match is just unfathomable to me.
