As I mentioned in the Cook thread earlier, City will be embarking on a tour of the US in Summer 2010. Initial games will be in Portland, Philly and hopefully a game in NYC at the new stadium of the New York Red Bulls!

Us US-based blues should get something special sorted for this!

Did cookie say when this was to be announced officially mate or is anything even set in stone yet? i guess it will be part of pre season for next season, i am supposed to be booking a trip to NYC soonish and would love to book it around this.

Sorry, he didn't. However, it seems that the tour is pretty certain. His words were, "We're coming over here on tour in Summer" so I took that as being rather definitive. He did say that Red Bulls wasn't 100% yet, but sounded like they weren't far off. I really hope this one goes ahead as it's going to be British-style stadium:

What was clear, was that the club aren't in NYC just for this plaque unveiling. They are here for some rather large meetings by the sounds of it and Cook mentioned that they'd be in talks with some rather large corporations! Could be some interesting developments in the future!

Ok cheers mate for the info it all sounds very interesting, hope the New york game goes ahead would be great to take a trip to NYC and catch City at the same time, that stadium looks impressive by the way...

This sounds great but why travel to US during the world cup? Surely late July / early August would be more appropriate. As USA are in the World cup real soccer (football) fans will be engrossed in that and we might struggle to maximise the opportunity. As for the venues NYC is a great one...not sure about the other two. Orlando would be great allowing UK City fans to enjoy Disney and take in a game and Seattle is renowned for a great interest in the English game. I believe Chelsea got a capacity crowd when they played there recently.

Just a thought!!
