Utd 1 City 6 OTD 23/10/2011

I've posted this story many times but it doesn't date. I was self employed. A company I worked with phoned me in August and asked me what I was doing on the 23rd October. I jokingly said I didn't know what I was doing next week never mind in 2 months time.
It turned out this company had corporate and he was inviting me to the derby. They had 10 tickets as the big boss was a rag, the lad inviting me didnt like football but he was under orders. I bit his hand off.
I knew I had to behave so didn't celebrate the goals. When the 4th went in the woman next to me, and her son stood up to leave, she turned and said 'the only good thing about today is watching you suffer cos you can't celebrate'. Sad bitch.
When the 6th went in I turned to my host and simply said sorry. I then stood up, arms high over my head and I cheered as loud as I could. 2 or 3 rags stated climbing down the seats to have words but were ushered away.
We then went back to corporate where I tried to drain the swamp of all the beer they had and I took the piss out of the big boss whilst doing so.

My missus heard me coming home ages before I arrived, I simply told her I was off out, met up with my mate and continued in the local boozer.

I also remember being at Wolves away (cup match) a few nights later n how chuffed we all looked with each other as the pride in the team n fans were absolutely oozing, next away after that was at QPR n hundreds of the Demolition on dvd were doing the rounds in all the pubs around Shepherds Bush green.

Think i went to every single away match that season, bar Newcastle, roller coaster of a season n probably one of me favorites on the road ...not a bad home match to end that whole term, either! :-)

Don't forget the fanzone that day too love it...

Watch the full game on City+...

Alternatively the full match is also on YouTube to watch anytime...

I know you can't directly watch it here on bluemoonforum and there's annoying ads but there's always a way, like brave browser if you use that you won't get ads but if you've got a firestick/android boxes an app called smart tube (which is a YouTube player) is your friend they'll be no ads, there's been people saying never sign into smart tube (so I never have) as youtube have been known to ban accounts that use it but you don't need to sign in.

The app itself lets you add channels to a custom feed, or save videos and playlists if I remember correctly.

The fanzone was class, I can still remember the “take it, take it, take it!”. For some reason Sky stopped doing them after this!

That third goal is a thing of beauty!!
I always say this - it really doesn't get the credit it deserves.

We all (rightly) marvel over Silva's pass to Edin for the sixth, but that third goal is so slick, it's unreal.

That result..........wow.
And, fergie was right about the swing in goals

To win the league, with the last kick of the saeson, on goal difference, with those goals scored at OT.........the best feeling

Did anyone watch it in City square at the ground? Was a fair few blues there watching, waded through the crowd to get a beer ordered four and the goals kept going in which resulted in my four beers ending being just half a plastic pint pot due to everyone going mental when we scored. What a day, they’ve never recovered from what happened to them that day as a club.

Balotelli 22', Balotelli 60', Agüero 69', Džeko 89', Silva 90+1', Džeko 90+3' ..."Not in my lifetime" eh!?!

I honestly think that over the years folk really didn't/don't fully grasp the share magnitude/multitude of emotion contagion n overall utter jubilation that were had n expressed on that fine day in that away end, and of what were unfolding there within.

The actual timing of them 2nd half goals ...fuckin jaw droppers.

Leaving the ground afterwards n everyone saying "what the fuck did we just do to em" haha ...then back to The Albert for a suppin' fest n party :-)

It’s a pity that you have included a photo of a goose, rather than a swan, but never mind.

We received a phone call from Mrs Vienna's daughter around 8:00am, saying that she’d gone into labour with our second grandchild.

We promptly packed up the laptop and travelled up to York, where we watched the game in their sitting room.

We couldn’t believe how the afternoon unfolded, and we had a few worrying moments after Fletcher scored.

It was a wonderful 24 hours, as our granddaughter arrived the next morning.

What a day, I didn’t think anything would ever top The Maine Road Massacre but this definitely did.

There’s just this part of me that thinks that maybe, just maybe we could humiliate them again in a similar way? We came close when Big Erl & Phil both scored hat-tricks but we eased off at 6-1 …. maybe a Cherki inspired demolition in the coming seasons perhaps?

Some of the football that was played that day was devastating, the interchange between Silva, Milner and Ballotelli on number 2 and 3 goals are a joy to watch. United being destroyed one man down must have been happy to see Ballotelli and Aguero subbed off, Mancini then stuck Dzeko on and he was involved in goals 4, 5 and 6. What a team that was.
