My first away game was probably the infamous "Giggs builds entire career scoring record from an own goal" derby at the swamp - I was in the Family Stand with my dad, right next to the blues.... we looked like a right rowdy rabble and the rags in the seats above the paddock seemed quite well behaved. The result was disappointing but not as much as seeing that Welsh twat wheel off and claim Hendry's goal. And it hardly compared with the elation of the 5-1.
Little did I know how much fun it would be to grow another 2 feet taller and get in amongst them and then later to see what a real rabble looks like when the rags go marching out below the away fans after a draw, ranting and spitting at us from below (see, not very clever either).
Hope your son has a great day and hope the result goes well for us!!
PS the rags to your left are weedy and good humoured and won't make a peep until they score, the rags to your right are more vociferous and very easily wound up. Take your pick
