Uuni Wood Fired Pizza Oven

Anybody else got one of these?
Can't seem to get ours hot enough and would like advice from those who have managed to get the full 400 degrees.
Hope this may help ! if you are giving it the time recommended to reach correct temp & it still seams on the cool side of 400 maybe you could try some small bits of wood or lump wood (not used this type of oven but a wood oven in general depends on insulation to retain heat & with this type only having a thin skin the heat is just dispersing) i use a smoker and at cooler times of the year it takes longer so i make a shield around it to keep a bit more heat in.
hope this helps !!!

Thanks for the advice - it's much appreciated. As you say the S/S body is thin and doesn't insulate well. The fuel cradle is also quite small though and is designed for wood pellets fed through a tall hopper by gravity, I don't think any other material would work.

Only other thought is are the wood pellets completely dry, any moisture will slow burn and burn slower.
When saying about using lump wood ,if broken down it may hold a bit more heat when using along with the pellets.
Also try finding some way of making a shield to keep the cooler air absorbing the heat without slowing the air flow to the fuel cradle.

Tweaking sometimes works wonders.
Good luck any way.

cheers joeboy - we'll give it a go at the next pizza fest - this is the contraption by the way
