UWCL v Barcelona (A) Wed 18-12-24 KO 17:45

Hope I'm wrong but can't see anything other than a mauling in this one and lose out on top spot. The way we played on Sunday seemed like we had no leadership on (or off) the pitch. I suppose seeing that we had 3 of the captain's group missing then it's not that much of a surprise but Laia & Jill are supposed to be part of that too and I didn't see much cajoling or geeing up of the players at all. Might as well get one of those living statues in for all the emotion that Taylor shows whether from his vantage point in the stands or when he deigns to come down to the sidelines.

One bright spark for this match is that there's an extra body in the squad with Layzell joining back up after her injury.

I've just seen the The highlights of the first game again, and the whole 90mins is still fresh in my mind from the EFC game. Take Hemp, Shaw 'n Miedema out and and it's like planing a piece of oak with kitchen foil. If the stodgy play on Sunday is what we bring to Barca tonight we are in for a whipping. Hope we have more solidity at the back. We only need to keep it below 2-0 to top the group.

We’re screwed! No Bunny, no Viv, no Alex, no Hempo and now no CK as well? I’ll be watching, but it’ll be from behind the sofa!
