He said
"nein ! In facten mein grandfurter vas ein tin miner in Poland. Nicht ein luftwaffe pilotten bomber"

Which translates roughly to:

No, In fact my Grandfather was a tin miner in Poland. Not an Aircraft Pilot Bomber!

"uwe's grandad mined the Stretford end"

Doesn't work as well, does it? :(

Yes, this is in fact the genuine article, as you can tell by his amazing grasp of German.

It's twitter not the telegraph.

I'm still not sure Uwe would use 'vas' instead of 'war', 'in facten' etc, despite it being twitter.

"Nein! Eigentlich, war mein Großvater ein Zinnbergmann in Polen. Und kein Luftwaffebomberflugzeugführer.

I suppose the big line that says:

"Ein automated Rosler Bot, obsessed by Fussball, der Future und Robots. Das ist gut, Ja ?"

was a bit difficult for some here to translate

I think that bit is tongue in cheek, but it is a parody account, much like Big Sam, Balo etc.

Not complaining like, the parody accounts are the best thing about Twitter.

Have I ever mentioned that you should follow @RobotoMancini ?

If not, you should follow @RobotoMancini

Do you mean "eeez important in this moment that we follow @RobotoMancini, but this eez football"?

I have it on good authority that as soon as Uwe became a manager he was contacted by the League Managers Association and told he had to be politically correct towards other managers and teams. For that reason he was FORCED to drop the historically accurate fact that his Grandad indeed DID bomb the Stretford End.

I should know because another historically accurate FACT is my Grandad was stood below his Grandad, (slightly to the left) guiding him in and cheering as he did the wonderful deed. At the time my Grandad was hailed a hero for leading the bombers away from the docks but in 1961 he finally admitted everything to the Lancashire Herald. One of the quotes from the article is as follows: "What's the problem they are like the Germans neither of them come from Manchester".

A full account of his heroism is published in the Manchester Town Hall Library.
