Tales of Blue had the pleasure of catching up with former City striker and cult hero Uwe Rosler to share his City memories of joining the club, team-mates, managers and his sheer pride to pull on the Sky Blue shirt.

Put the R on the end :)

I saw him before stoke final with the two little kids and missus asking for directions to the Green Man. An hour later he was back at the stadium on his own with several fans hitting him on the head pissed up chanting, like rats following the Pied Piper. He humoured them though, must have been hard not to lose it.

I don’t think he was a particularly great player or anything but he was by far my favourite player from when I started going in 1989 until Agüero.

He had a bond with the fans that I’m not sure even Zaba could beat. He fucking loved City and calling his Son, Colin, after the King shows that.
Now I'm not too sure about that, Zaba is one of us and he is my personal favourite lol

Though you may have a point with the Colin part.

Call it a draw and we'll walk away smiling :)

Random BBC link to his son, who is playing in Swedish top division for an unfancied team, who are top!

The BBC can do decent football pieces...except for getting a piece that includes something semi positive related to City signed off by the red cartel guards of Roan & Stone.

You forgot his second lad, Tony. Named after Skip.

He was signed by Malmö, who theoretically we could play in Champions League, although they have to get past Copenhagen and one more round after to qualify for the league stage.

Uwe himself was managing Aarhus in Denmark but was sacked at the end of last season and doesn't currently have another team yet.

There've been longer and more inventive songs about other players but none that I enjoyed singing more than his.
Words were quite easy to remember, too.
Who could we use the tune for from our current squad of players?

Seeing this thread re-appear reminds me I shook his hand before the QPR game, it was my second-best moment of the day.
