Value seasoncards sold out

i think the value gold cards are a fantastic idea, cheap season tickets for well off single blokes, while increasing the cost for everyone else, those of us buying tickets for the whole family are quite happy with the increases on buying 3 or 4 season tickets while the single bloke with no commitments can watch games for about 16 quid.

hopefully the gold tickets will be in level 3, the seats that are not affordable to many families anymore, in the meantime we can fight for scraps in the family stand.

a great scheme.

your logic is flawed. the value gold seats keep the price of other tickets (including season tickets) down.

They are limited in number and used to fill in single seat gaps between blocks of other season ticket holders. If they were not sold as value gold season tickets, then for the vast majority of games they wouldnt be sold at all. Single seats are notoriously hard to sell on a match by match basis.

Whereabouts in the ground have you ended up with these value deals? I was tempted myself but don't fancy being on row 1 behind the goal.

first year up in the gods west stand.

second year, east stand level 1 aisle 104, row m, directly in front of sergio sliding on his knees after that goal

this year in the gods in east stand

next year who knows

so because someone goes on there own, they are keeping the prices down for everyone else, dont really understand that tbh, also not all gold seats are singles, joint applications are put together, i also know someone who earns well in excess of 50k, who has one every year, never bothers with cup games, or away games, just takes the cheap ticket. Good luck to those who get them, and good luck to those who genuinely deserve a cheaper ticket, but i am sure everyone would have liked a bit of help with cost.

"value gold" are all single. no one gets put together.

as you dont understand about the effect on pricing, i will explain again.
single seats are hard to sell on a match by match basis. generally they go unsold so the club get no revenue from them. The club needs revenue so will put up the price of other tickets to get it. The value gold tickets fill up those single seats between blocks of other season ticket holders. the club therefore get revenue and so are under less pressure to put up the prices of other tickets.

and yes rich people by cheap tickets, but unless you introduce some kind of means test how would yo stop it?

but how do they know these seats will be single when the season ticket period has only just started, there maybe many singles who dont renew or there may be many bluecard holders going to buy

if single seats are so hard to sell, why has every game bar one sold out in the last 2 years, and this included fa cup games this season, where literally hundreds of single tickets are on sale at various points. and i know for a fact joint applications have been put together. But like i say, good luck to you in getting one, football is bloody dear, and if it keeps you coming then i am pleased for you.

Presumably because value gold card holders are not told where they will sit until all seasoncards are sold

I have 2 season cards and a couple of years ago I applied for Value Gold and my 2 seats were next to each other in East Stand Level 1 Row J. Tried again the year after and wasn't as lucky as the 2 seats were fairly close but 15 yards apart. I therefore rang up and said I didn't want them and paid for 2 full price seats together where I have remained since.

they dont know NOW which seats are going to be singles. But after ALL the season tickets have been sold they do know where the single seats between blocks of season tickets are. Thats why value gold seats are not allocated until the season tickets have been sold (or 4 weeks before the start of the season, if by some chance we dont sell all our season tickets).

I got the impression they had as little as 250. Before checking out you had to pick a seat in a virtal block with 10 rows and 25 seats. 250 would not be many!? Really glad I got one.

The value card is an absolutely fantastic idea. I miss being able to sit with friends but living 240 miles form Manchester, with the cost of petrol £80 each game, I would be unable to afford to attend without this option.

having had one in the past, it always goes down well later in the season when you tell those sitting around you that you have paid £300 less than them for your season card!!!!
