Some days you've just gotta self indulge yourself and today has been one of those days where ive been immersed in Van Morrison and my old vinyl...Oh Sweet Thing, Listen to the Lion, Veedon Fleece, Sense of Wonder, Poetics Champions Compose, Madame George, Ballerina, Astral Weeks, Hard Nose the Highway, Inarticulate Speech of the Heart, Tupelo Honey, Tir Na Nog, In the Garden/You Send Me, Town Called Paradise, The Healing Has Begun, It's All in the Game, You Know What They're Writing About, Rave on John Donne...

Been learning to play Sweet Thing on guitar all day and was amazed to learn that Ronnie Montrose played guitar on Listen to the Lion, one of my all time fav songs. Thats whats great about music your always learning something new.

We were just taking our seats at Wembley 1999 when they played "Bright Side of the Road" - I knew then it was going to be our day.

I love the guy, especially the above mentioned track, as well as "Have I told You Lately" and "Brown Eyed Girl".

Was taking some photos at Glastonbury when he had a strop and walked off leaving the band to jam for about fifteen minutes.

He finally came back and gave the band those 'if looks could kill' looks whilst waving his finger at them.

I'm just sat here listening to my Pink Floyd on cd - moved the tv and stuff for the time being. Wondered if the cd player still worked as I've just put mp3s through the amp for the last few years. BIG mistake. Been sat here for three hours now, only getting up to change cd.

Promised I'd have allsorts done when she got back - oooops!

Same here, Mrs 2112 is out until 9pm when i'm suposed to have a chinese takeaway sorted, bottle of wine and a film ready for a chilled out evening and I've done fuck all but listen to music, play guitar and chill.

Seen Van a few times and he's been either bang on form or a complete twat so I won't bother live anymore but some of his earlier recordings are simply masterful.

Three of the best songs of my lifetime ... real quality from Van Morrison

I also really rate Rod Stewarts version of 'Have i told you lately' too .... he makes a great job of it.

Seen him a few times he,s out standing live and some of the songs he has written are fantastic he's a true legend !!

This where 'Van the Man' came from. Pity he wasnt this animated all the time.
